1.) North Market

It was first established in the nineteenth century. North Market It is seen locally as one of the best markets in the state. It’s totally amazing! filled with everything from; Fresh pastries, hand-cut flowers, and local cheeses make it the perfect place to stop for a picnic and a delicious lunch.

Now, Northern Market isn’t the largest in the world, but don’t let its size put you off. It has heaps of stalls that have some delicious food to suit most tastes. Be sure to stop by Black Radish Creamery and Fox’s for delicious bagels.

Now, one thing to note, Northern Market can get crowded, especially on the weekends. If you fancy fewer crowds, arrive early in the morning or just before closing. We love it.

2.) German village

One of the best things about exploring any city is touring its different neighborhoods. Columbus is no exception!

Our neighborhood favorite is German Village, and not just because of the beautiful Schiller Park. As you can see, in the German Village, you will wander around the Germanic roots of Columbus which is absolutely perfect for a few hours’ exploration.

Once here, visit Schmidt’s Restaurant and Sausage Haus Restaurant for delicious sausages, cream puffs, and schnitzels. Oh my goodness, schnitzel is everything.

Also, if you visit well, you will also be able to experience the German Village Oktoberfest or the Haus and Garden Tour. These events are held annually, so you may want to take this into account as you begin planning your itinerary or trip in general.

Oh, and don’t forget The Book Loft; It is a destination in itself! There are so many rooms, it can get overwhelming if you’re looking for a certain thing, but it’s absolutely gorgeous.

3.) Huntington Park

Have you had enough of wandering the streets? Then head to one of the largest sports parks in Columbus called Huntington Park. It is one of the best spots to watch a game and can hold thousands of people inside.

Home of the Clippers, it’s a totally cool place to grab a ticket and spend an evening at. Oh, and don’t forget to pop up
Beef, Pork and Wario for their delicious sandwiches. Visiting is one of the best things to do in Columbus when you’re hungry; Trust me, you’ll be left stuffed.

4.) The Ohio Theatre

You have everything from live theater performances, classic films, ballet performances, and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

Founded nearly 100 years ago, the Ohio Theater is one of the most famous buildings and venues in Columbus. Trust me, it’s beautiful.

5.) Columbus Museum of Art

If you love museums or galleries, you will absolutely love the Columbus Museum of Art. It is one of the most visited places and one of the best things to do in Columbus, especially if you love art.

It houses permanent exhibitions, art pieces, collections, and exhibitions, and is a space where you can spend hours exploring.

Visiting with family? Head to the Wonder Room which is totally fun for kids and has lots of interactive exhibits that make for a totally fun day.

Not only that, the Wexner Center for the Arts serves as a place for visitors to embrace films, exhibitions, art, and events that make it absolutely lovely for an hour-long visit. They also have a great art residency program with heaps of exhibits to view.

Oh, and don’t forget that on Thursdays, after 4 p.m., visits are completely free.

7.) Easton Town Centre

Do you like good shopping? Well, you’ll want to get to Easton Town Centre. It is one of the best things to do in Columbus if you like to shop all day long.

From iconic brands and local stories, Easton Town Center features them all. Best of all, it’s an outdoor shopping area where you can check out plenty of restaurants and sit outside on a nice sunny day.

Although it is located outside the city center, it is really easy to visit by taxi or with a rental car. In addition, nearby, you have Blandon Woods Metro Park This is absolutely beautiful for a walk.

8.) Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Do you want to have a cool time in the city? Then head to the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens which is one of the best things to do in Columbus.

With more than 400 plant species within the conservatory, it is an ideal place to relax and explore some of the city’s natural collections. After that, don’t forget to head over to Mexican Cazuelas Cantina. It’s quite a cozy and chilled place, but their dishes are very good. Plus, they make absolutely delicious margaritas.

10.) The Pizzuti Collection

Didn’t you have enough art in Columbus? Then visit the Pizzuti Collection which is one of the best things to do in Columbus while exploring the area around Goodale Park.

Now, part of the Columbus Museum of Art, it’s relatively small compared to its bigger brother, but its three floors are just as amazing.

The museum also has a nice garden outside, so if you need a break from exploring the interior of the place, you can enjoy the fresh air while you spend some time outside. The museum is closed on Mondays, so if you want to visit this place, be sure to go here on other days of the week.
