Missouri’s boating safety and marijuana rules were addressed at the Water Patrol meeting

street. CHARLES, Missouri — Before summer officially begins, one man is bringing Missouri’s boaters and water patrols together to promote safe boating.

Local boatman Dan Brown first introduced the event last year to help foster relationships between the people who use the boats and the people who regulate the boat rules.

On Friday, at the St. Louis Yacht Club, about 30 or so passengers met up with two agents from the Missouri State Water Patrol.

“I hope they come up with the idea that we’re all in this together,” Brown told FOX 2. “We have several deaths a year on the Mississippi River [River]And we’re trying to prevent some of that.”

The meeting lasted about an hour. One topic that Brown has come up with this year is recreational marijuana since it passed this year.

Brown asked, “May I smoke marijuana on a boat?” “We need to have those answers, so people don’t get in trouble.”

Boat Owners Association of the United States (US boat) saysIn all states, under sway boat laws apply the same laws apply to alcohol and marijuana use. Despite the fact that state law now allows you to smoke recreational marijuana, federal waterways, such as the Mississippi River, are covered by federal law, which overrides state law.

Brown said he would like to bring the event back every year, as long as people continue to participate and benefit from the meeting.
