KTVI/KPLR volunteered with NCJWSTL at Nexstar Founder’s Care Day

CREVE COEUR, Mo. Summer vacation has just begun, but some are already starting to go back to school on Friday in their minds.

The St. Louis group is making much-needed supplies for the kids and helping FOX2. KTVI FOX2 and KPLR Channel 11 celebrated the Nexstar founder’s Care Day by volunteering at the National Council of Jewish Women in St. Louis.

Volunteers packed backpacks with school supplies and sorted boxes full of coats in preparation for the organization’s back-to-school event in August.

“The NCJWSTL has been around for nearly 120 years, and our mission is to better the women, children, and families of our community and this is one of the ways we do that,” said Elaine Alper, CEO of the NCJWSTL.

The volunteer work is part of a nationwide initiative by Nexstar Stations to give back to local communities on its 27th annual Day of Care, marking the year the company was founded.

“TV stations are doing this all over the country. We had a committee that got together and said, ‘Well, what’s a noble cause that we can come together and help? Krueger, General Manager of KTVI/KPLR, “We’re thrilled to be involved.

The organization’s signature community service project is “The Back to School Store.” A one-day event held every year that provides new clothes, school supplies and books to more than 1,500 underprivileged children.

This effort can help children start the school year confident and ready to learn and stay successful all year long.

“We attack issues that are need in the community. We do projects like this, the back-to-school store, to meet the immediate needs of disadvantaged families. , and we attack the situation that puts those people in need first.
