Gabe Gore adds 5 prosecutors to the circuit attorney’s office

street. Louis – New St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore continues his efforts to replenish the office with prosecutors.

Since taking office on May 30, Gore has had 10 attorneys in the fold. Four other prosecutors work on loan from neighboring counties.

In addition, two former associate circuit attorneys have returned to the office. Mary Pat Carl returns as the city’s chief homicide officer, and Stephen Capese returns as the chief warrant officer. Carl and Capese also serve as members of Gore’s executive team.

The new staff, four of whom previously worked in the circuit attorney’s office, will begin looking through the backlog of cases, which Gore has listed as a top priority.

“Hiring experienced prosecutors who can work on the ground is my top priority,” Gore said. “We are working hard to build a high-performance team of attorneys and support staff to serve the citizens of St. Louis.”

The Attorney General’s Office has provided resumes for its most recent employees.

Chris Ferber

Chris Faerber returns as a newly appointed Assistant Circuit Attorney for the Circuit Attorney’s Office. Faerber is currently the Senior Attorney at Faerber Law LLC, where he focuses on criminal defense, municipal charges, and probation. He previously worked in St. Louis as an Assistant Circuit Attorney, and as an Assistant Public Defender in the St. Louis City Trial Office. Ferber also did legal work for a publishing company and managed a St. Louis brewery. Graduated from the University of Chicago and the University of Washington School of Law. Ferber also serves as a board member for the St. Louis Office of Developmental Disabilities Resources and has earned his national certification as a beer judge.

Alison Schreiber Lee

Alison Schreiber-Lee has been appointed as the new Special Assistant Circuit Counsel in the Circuit Counsel’s Office. Lee is currently a family law attorney at Sandberg, Phoenix & Von Gontard specializing in divorce, child support and child abuse cases.

Lee brings additional extensive experience in family law and previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Law. Graduated from American University and University of Washington School of Law.

Terrence O’Toole Jr

Terry O’Toole, Jr. has been appointed as a Special Assistant District Attorney for the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office. O’Toole is a member of Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC, with a practice focused on medical malpractice, personal injury, and public liability advocacy. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Narcotics Unit from 2008 to 2010, before joining the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked in the Violent Crimes Unit and Trial Team Leader until 2014. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned She holds a law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. O’Toole Jr. joins his father, Terry O’Toole Sr., who is back as a senior counsel in the circuit attorney’s office.

Brit M Rich

Brett M. Rich has been appointed as the new Assistant Circuit Counsel in the Circuit Counsel’s Office. He has 26 years of experience as a sole practitioner, specializing in complex criminal and civil litigation in a variety of matters. He has previous experience in the municipal field

St. Louis County District Attorney and St. Louis County Assistant District Attorney. Rich has also worked in corporate law, published in the St. Louis Bar Gazette, and is a lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and Cumberland Law School at Samford University.

Cherry Walk

Sherry Wolk has been appointed as the Assistant District Attorney for the Circuit Counsel’s Office. Wolk has extensive experience from many sectors of the law, including the prosecution of violent crimes, specializing in the prosecution of sexual offenses and child abuse, working as an in-house counsel, civil litigation, working on FINRA, SEC and state regulatory investigations and responses, handling internal and financial crime investigations A fraud and clerk of the Missouri Court of Appeals. She returned to the office after spending seven years in the circuit attorney’s office from 1997 to 2004. Wolk has prosecuted more than a thousand cases while in office and has an excellent trial record. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and Washington University School of Law.
