Final Fantasy XVI: All Icons Explained

In Final Fantasy 16, the character Eikons plays a role of primary importance, both on the plot level and on the gameplay level. Precisely for this reason, we decided to create an article that would include all the Eikons in the game in one place, giving a brief explanation of them and their characteristics. If you have just embarked on your journey into the world of Final Fantasy 16, the information you are about to read will certainly help you in your adventure.

What are icons?

Before we go ahead and give you more detailed information on the topic, it is important to explain what Eikons are. Eikons are very powerful summons that will gradually unlock during the game and allow the protagonist, Clive, to have very powerful powers and abilities. There are ten icons in Final Fantasy XVI, but there are eight that players will be able to unlock because the other two are enemy icons. Here is a complete list of all Eikons:

• Phoenix
• Garuda
• ifrit
• spears
• Titan
• Bahamut
• Shiva
• Odin
• Typhoon
• Titan lost

Phoenix

Phoenix is ​​an Eikon that is related to Clive’s younger brother Joshua and can be unlocked during the main quest of “Sunrise, Sunset”. As you can guess from its name, Eikon was created taking the phoenix as a reference point, in fact, it looks like a large flame-enveloping bird capable of killing its enemies using fire.

Phoenix Clive grants the use of 5 special abilities that the protagonist can learn at the start of the aforementioned main mission, even if he can only start using them at the start of the next mission. The five skills involved are:

• Flames rising
• heat wave
• The fire of rebirth
• Phoenix Shift
• Scarlet Hurricane

Garuda

The Garuda Dominator is Benedikta Harman, an antagonist in Final Fantasy 16, who can be unlocked during the main quest “Headwind”, though her abilities can only be equipped starting with the next quest, i.e. “Wings of Change”. Garuda, Eikon of the wind, is one of the Eikons that Clive will have to face and defeat in order to continue his adventure.

Garuda Clive will give you the opportunity to take advantage of 5 very powerful skills that will be very useful throughout the story. The five skills that you can unlock once you get enough Skill Points (AP) are:

• Air blast
• rook maneuver
• Killer embrace
• evil wheel
• rip

ifrit

Ifrit is another ikon associated with the fire element, as is the case with Phoenix. His Dominator is Clive, the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI. The fact that he is a fiery Ekkun, allows Clive to gain skills related to him. It is not unlockable during the main Buried Memories mission, but its abilities will be available from the next mission.

Ifrit’s skills, as already mentioned, are related to fire, and unlike all other Eikons, Ifrit gives Clive the ability to acquire only 3 skills. Ifrit’s capabilities are as follows:

• Will oh wicks

• ignition

Ramuh is the icon of thunder and is associated with the dominant sedulphus (sid). He is unlockable during the main quest “Curse of the Crystal”, though his abilities will be available starting with the next stage, “Cid the Outlaw”. As shown in some gameplay clips, Ramuh is capable of attacks composed of lightning bolts and bolts.

Ramuh Clive will give the opportunity to acquire 5 skills that will be very useful in combat to defeat even the most formidable opponents. The skills involved are as follows:

• Thunder Storm

Titan

Titan is a very powerful Eikon, even bigger than Ifrit, capable of throwing large objects long distances at his enemies. His Dominator is Hugo and is unlocked during the “Death Sentence” mission, after encountering and defeating Hugo, though, as usual, his abilities will be available starting with the next mission.

Titan’s abilities are very powerful, precisely because they reflect his nature, which is why it has been indicated that some of them will be unlocked instantly, in order to have an easier life during the game. Titan’s abilities are:

• raging fists
• conclude, finish
• Earthy anger
• Titanic block
• revolution

Bahamut

Bahamut is an ikon that looks like a large dragon with big blue flames coming out. Bahamut is an Eikon related to the character Dion, prince of the Sanbreque Holy Empire. His skills will be acquired during the main quest “Fire in the Sky”.

Bahamut’s skills will be very useful to you during your battles, especially as you progress through the adventure. Clive has the ability to acquire 5 different skills, which are as follows:

• Wings of light
• Glowing breath
• Paid
• Satellites
• gigaflare

Shiva

Shiva is an Ice Icon and is associated with the character Jill, a childhood friend of protagonist Clive. She stands out from the rest of the ICONS for her beauty and femininity. Shiva will be unlocked during the main quest “Through the Maelstrom” and will give Clive the ability to gain her abilities.

Shiva’s skills, being an Eikon of the ice element, are all tied to her and are definitely useful during certain battles with certain enemies. Shiva’s abilities are as follows:

Odin

Odin is usually depicted riding his horse, intent on slaying enemies with his massive sword. The dominant associated with this Eikon is Barbanas who represents the element of darkness. Odin is unlocked during the main quest “The Last King”.

Since it is an Eikon that is linked to the element of darkness, the skills that Clive will gain once Odin is unlocked will also be linked to that element. Odin’s capabilities are as follows:

• Gungnir

Typhoon

Typhon is one of the enemy Eikons that appeared in Final Fantasy 16. His character has a very strong torso and very powerful powers. Being the enemy of Eikon, unlike the others, we talked about earlier, it cannot be unlocked, but it is only possible to meet it as a boss fighter in the main quest “Curse of the Crystals”.

Titan lost

Titan Lost is another hostile ICON that players will encounter throughout their adventure in Final Fantasy 16. It appears as a giant made of rocks and tentacles surrounding it. The Dominant is Hugo Kupka, his element is Earth and it is possible to encounter him during the main quest “In the Darkness”. As in the case of Typhon, Titan Lost does not allow you to unlock skills.
