The Endwalker expansion in Final Fantasy XIV is slowly dwindling. The game recently released patch 6.4 which included the penultimate chapter of the ongoing story which is supposed to culminate with 6.5 and which is expected to release the first part sometime in September/October this year.

But there are more things to redirect to! The conclusion of the Void story means we’ll be slowly approaching the next expansion for the critically acclaimed MMORPG, 7.0, which was already teased in the latest update.

What is FFXIV Fan Fest 2023?

With more and more players joining Final Fantasy XIV day by day, it has been a long time since the last fan-favorite festival (2019). Resubmission may be appropriate.

the FFXIV Fan Fest It’s a two-day conference that Square Enix holds in every game data center area. North America, Europe and Japan (Korea and China have separate fanfests because they usually have a patch tournament behind us).

Prior to the pandemic, the Fan Fest was a biannual event intended to celebrate Final Fantasy XIV and its community and spread information about the latest expansion of three major events.

The 2023 Fan Fest stands for Back in Form, in 2021 we had our Online Fan Fest around the world which was a two day stream that saw the FFXIV crew interact with fans in-game and via stream.

But don’t worry, if you didn’t get any tickets or simply couldn’t attend, most of the activities that take place on stage such as Q&A with developers, expansion keynotes, and cosplay contest will be broadcasted via livestream.

Fanfest 2023 is scheduled

The 2023 Fan Fest tour will take place in three locations across the world. Airtimes will be added as soon as they become available. Stay tuned to Loadstone for more information.

However, this year will be special, as it marks the 10th anniversary of the release of A Realm Reborn, so expect some surprises on top of the usual schedule.

North American Fan Fest 2023

The 2023 North American Fan Fest (tickets already sold out) will take place from July 28-29 at Las Vegas, Nevada at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

As usual, the show will open with a keynote by director and producer Naoki Yoshida. Here we will get to know the first details of the upcoming 7.0 expansion and may even see the unveiling of one of the new functions.

Version 7.0 promises to be a huge update for Final Fantasy XIV, including a graphical overhaul on all levels, including reworking of old areas and character models/shaders. Which we expect to be the focus of the event.

We’ll also later get a Producer Live message, likely covering what players can expect from Patch 6.5 which is due out later this year.

European Fan Fest 2023

European Fan Festival It will take place in London, UK at the ExCel London Conference Center from October 21st to October 22nd. (tickets already sold out)

This offering will start with another Keynote title and will likely be a little lighter when it comes to reveal (as it has been in the past). Traditionally here we’ll see the changes coming to the battle system, the reveal of the second post coming to FFXIV with 7.0, and a first look at the new areas.

Here we’ll likely see a potential launch window for the next expansion revealed. Which according to current trends should be sometime between March and May of 2024.

Japan Fan Festival 2024

Last but not least is the Japanese Fans Feast which takes place from January 7th to January 8th in Tokyo, Japan at the legendary Tokyo Dome. (No tickets sold yet)

Here we’ll get the full reveal of the cinematic CGI that makes Final Fantasy XIV expansions so iconic to begin with as well as the expansion’s release date. Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida will also be presenting a long-lived version of Message from Producer Live.

There it will touch on everything players can expect from version 7.0 such as the main mission scenario, graphical changes, new functions, and changes to existing ones. We’ll also get more details about upcoming Raid and Alliance Raid levels and other content that will be implemented in the 7.x patch cycle.

Pre-orders for the new expansion and their collection release will also be live after the keynote, so if you’re planning on getting one, make sure you’re ready because those sell out fast.
